Pediatric Dentists
Our pediatric dentists trained at the nations best specialty programs for two years beyond dental school to understand the unique needs of infants and children as well as those with special needs.
This training, as well as our years of experience, allows us to better understand children and provide them with quality dental care in a caring and compassionate manner.
Dr. Jon Wendell
A native of New Hampshire, Dr. Wendell attended UNH before completing his dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From there, he went on to specialize in pediatric dentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital / Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Wendell lives on the seacoast in New Hampshire with his family.
Dr. Deb Filocoma
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Filocoma completed her undergraduate studies at Fordham University in New York. After completing her undergraduate degree, she attended SUNY at Stony Brook, School of Dental Medicine, on Long Island, before specializing in pediatric dentistry at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
In fact, Dr. Filocoma and Dr. Wendell both trained together during their post-doctoral pediatric dental residency at Harvard and Children’s Hospital. They have been partners in their Portsmouth office since 1996.
Dr. Filocoma lives in southern New Hampshire with her family.
Dr. Toral Joshi
Dr. Joshi joined us after having worked in private practice in Peabody, MA. Prior to that, she taught Pediatric Dentistry at The University of Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and then attended Columbia University in NYC for her dental school. Upon receiving her DDS, she then completed her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She and her family reside on the seacoast.
Dr. Brian McGuire
Dr. Brian is originally from Illinois and attended college at UNC-Charlotte. He completed dental school at Southern Illinois University and then specialized in pediatric dentistry at The University of Oregon. Dr. Bryan, his wife and his two young boys reside on the Seacoast and love spending time together outdoors.
Dr. Kaitlyn O'Connell West
Dr. West grew up in Danvers, MA. She attended Colby College in Waterville, ME before earning her masters from Tufts University in Boston, MA. She continued at Tufts for dental school before specializing in pediatric dentistry at NYU Langone in Tampa, FL, where she was selected as chief resident. Dr. West now resides in the seacoast area with her husband, Brendan, and their dog, Bombay. She enjoys traveling, going to Bruins and Red Sox games, and attending concerts and musicals!
Dr. Geri Hunter
Dr. Hunter is a native of New Jersey where she completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers College. Upon graduation she was accepted into the Dental School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She continued her education specializing in Orthodontics at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
In 1993, Dr. Hunter moved to New Hampshire and formed a partnership with Dr. Wendell. Together, they established the seacoast area's first pediatric dentistry and orthodontic group practice. Portsmouth Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is dedicated to managing dental as well as orthodontic needs of our patients.
Dr. Hunter lives in the seacoast area with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and going to Red Sox games. Her two dogs Masey and Jake are keeping her busy.
Dr. Rayanne Lee
Dr. Rayanne Lee is a board certified orthodontist whose vision for a healthy bite and esthetic smile is founded upon public health concerns for oral health. She graduated Cum Laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine earning her DMD degree. With focus on eliminating disparities in oral health, Dr. Lee received her MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. She received her Certificate in Orthodontics at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she also conducted research in prioritization of orthodontic problems leading to her MDS degree. Dr. Lee grew up in Western Canada and is naturally drawn towards mountains and hiking trails. When she’s not hiking, she is gardening maintaining close ties to nature. She also loves music and plays the piano, violin, and flute.
